We have been very pleased over the past few years of the service and care done by Dr. Victor Wong and Dr. King. Jacqueline has come when her throat was a problem and through acupuncture treatments all is well again. Thank you. Ashley has come due to problems of her knees and weight gain. She is only 9 1/2 years old and through treatment is on her way to feeling better and more energy. She's feeling a weight loss (slightly) at this point in time. Thank you.
Barbara Gelhar I welcome wholeheartedly the move to include acupuncture in the AHCIP. Having undergone treatments over the course of 7 years, I have found that acupuncture has helped my body to heal itself-muscular tension, sinus problems, severe headaches, stress and exhaustion. I feel more relaxed both mentally and physically, yet able to work well after treatments. Recent menopause symptoms have also been resolved with a time honored herbal and acupuncture treatment method. I rely on my acupuncture to alleviate my symptoms. I have complete confidence in Dr. Wong's methods.

After one treatment for stress related anxiety I already feel the benefits. I was experiencing mild anxiety attacks on a regular basis, was unable to get restful nights sleep and experienced a diminished ability to focus and concentrate. I also was experiencing chronic headache free for 6 days and able to sleep restfully through the night. Yesterday for the first time in a long time I was able to study for an extended period.

Two words- It works My situation is unique. I have been basically non-functional for the past six+ months, being treated for major depression, broken out sores, hives on hives, from head to toe, which are extremely itchy and swollen and scratch and bleed even in my sleep, bruising from scratching so hard. I feel like I'm being poisoned. I have no energy whatsoever, no appetite, unbalanced and weak and dizzy, hibernating for days. It is an effort to have a shower and get dressed, and then I'm ready for bed again. Extremely tired, exhausted sleeping for 14-20 hours a day, and never feeling rested. I don't want to eat because I'm in pain for hours after, my stomach extended and mega pressure. Burning hot from inside-feels like someone sticking a hot poker in spots of my body, constantly dunking my head in ice cold water to cool down, or cold showers and ice cubes. My organs are just not functioning properly. Everything is just out of wack. I am on many medications and creams seeing many doctors, having injections to try to heal the sores. It's not going away after all this time, somewhat healing but still breaking out. Ready to give up as a last resort I decided to try herbs and acupuncture. After one (acupuncture) visit I noticed a difference. I'm actually healing, my skin tone is better(not so inflamed) my stomach is going down , I'm feeling quite a lot better, more focused more relaxed and calm, I can talk without crying I am finally starting to get some results and confidence. Acupuncture is painless and doesn't take much time at all. Mind you the herbal tea takes time to boil and tastes bitter, but it works. It really works! I would highly recommend acupuncture and herbal medicines to any one any day! Like I said in two words, it works! If you have a problem and want results- try herbal remedies and Acupuncture- it works!

Acupuncture has been a useful nesseary and successful treatment in my recovery from a 1. Broken Back 2. Seriously unstable SI joint. I sustained these injuries in a recreational accident summer of 2000. I strongly feel these services are deserving of funding under the Alberta health care plan (AHCIP)

I would recommend Acupuncture to anyone. My experience has been that the treatment works. Conventional doctors need to pay attention and not prescribe so many medications. For my problem this has been the only help in twenty years.

I suffered really bad with fibromyaligia, neck pain, back pain from MVA. I was so pleased with the acupuncture treatments I received. He helped to teach me how to live with my chronic pain and relieved a lot of pain. I am so grateful for his wisdom and understanding and more importantly help me to relieve my pain.

My treatment today was amazing as it gave me instant relief to my lower back & sciatic problem. Dr. Wong has given me much confidence and understanding that I can take better care of myself, therefore, not living in pain on a daily basis. Thank you Dr. Wong

When I first came here over 1 1/2 years ago, I couldn't sleep , had a lot of headaches [especially at night] was hardly able to walk because of lower back pain and had pains in my upper back. I also had a terrible cough and food & environmental allergies. I was missing a lot of work. Dr. Wong first treated my sinus problems9 I had been on medicine that hadn't helped) and then worked on my digestion problems and my immune system. I haven't had a sick day from work in months; I'm stronger, rarely coughing, my allergies are under control. I can walk with less pain and I can sleep again. I am more alert and feel like living again.

About six years ago I was injured while at work. I tried everything that western medicine had to offer but was unable to stop taking pain killers , muscle relaxants and anti inflammatory medication. Acupuncture was my last resort. After approximately 10 treatments I was medication free; however I did still have some pain. After an additional 10 treatments I am happy to say I was pain free. I now from time to time come in for a treatment for maintenance and have never felt better. I believe this would benefit everyone.

I was diagnosed with Fibromyalgia over 10 years ago. I waited over one year to get into a doctor who specialized in treatments for FMS. I was given medications and some treatments to help with my symptoms FMS. All was covered by AHCIP and a year later I left treatments as my quality of life had not changed. Four months ago I tried Acupuncture after my second treatment I did notice a difference in my symptoms. I am now able to complete days with out pain and fatigue and lead a more normal life. So with Acupuncture and a few herbs and vitamins my quality of life is back on track over 75%. Treatments of ACUPUNCTURE SHOULD BE COVERED BY AHCIP as they are very helpful and not painful. Quality of life should be helped in treatments that work for the person. A lot of people cannot afford Acupuncture as it is not covered by AHCIP. Please this of people's needs.

I very much believe in acupuncture. The hospitals, emergencies and clinics could benefit from acupuncture clinics. People with back aches and pain would go there, but many cannot afford the fees, when they have to pay extra. I sure benefited from many different visits for swollen ankles, back aches etc. Acupuncture does a lot of good. My daughter as well swears by it.

After two years of treatment through conventional methods failed to maintain relief in my back and neck I tried acupuncture and I was able to resume almost normal activity and function without much pain. I thank the acupuncturist for this relief. I will continue to take this method of treatment along with some conventional methods as a feel between them I will need less medications (pills) and will be less of a burden on the systems as I age.

I am a male Sixty three year old diabetic patient, who approx. one year ago due to severe back pain was having difficulty going my daily two mile walks. I had gone to physio at the University of Calgary for ten treatments and as that seemed to do very little in alleviating my discomfort I went for a further twenty visits to a chiropractor, these treatments helped temporarily however upon resuming my daily walks that pain was as bad as before! To seek some relief, I took a chance and attending my first acupuncture treatment at Sincere Health Clinic. Dr. Victor Wong T.D.C.M."practitioner" His procedures and herbal treatments and advice soon enabled me to start walking again daily and also enabled me to lose seventeen pounds of excess weight and most of all cut my diabetic medication in half! My western trained medical Doctor upon reviewing my quarterly random blood tests has exclaimed that all tests show I am doing very well and to keep doing whatever I am doing. I am pleased with the results of Dr. Wong's treatments and would recommend anyone with a health concern attend this facility! The only draw-back to my attending regularly is that as a pensioner (fixed-income) I find the cost somewhat prohibitive!

Approximately fifteen years ago I was diagnosed with Type 2 Diabetes and for the last 10 years I have had heart problems. Six years ago I had a quadruple heart by pass. It is because of these health problems that it is imperative that I exercise or at least get a good walk everyday. Two years ago I started suffering with extreme lower back pain. My medical doctor referred me to the physio-therapy dept. at the University of Calgary for treatments. These treatments each cost $40.00. After ten sessions it became clear that there was little or no improvement. So I took it upon myself to try a chiropractor. Here again, after twenty treatments but I was still in severe pain when walking, this pain was so bad that for a time I had to give up my walk only to find that my blood- sugar levels were constantly elevated. It was at this time that my wife started discussing out health problems with and Acupuncturist and Herbologist. I decided that I would give this a try, so far nothing else has worked. Since December 1999, until the present date I have been receiving acupuncture treatments and herbal supplements from Dr. Victor Wong, I can honestly say that for the first time in years I can go for my daily walk without lower back pain. This is something that medical doctors were unable to do for me. For the reasons mentioned above I feel that the treatments and herbal supplements prescribed for me by Dr. Wong should be allowed in the medical expenses on my income tax form, line 330.

Acupuncture has helped me recently as well as in the past. I have M.S. and in the past I had weakness and fatigue and was stressed both physically and emotionally. Recently I was feeling depressed and experiencing digestion problem. I am feeling more balanced emotionally and my digestion has greatly improve. I strongly recommend that acupuncture be funded under the Alberta health care insurance plan.

I have been treated by Dr. Zhao since May 2000 with noticeable reduction in frequency of Premature Ventricular Contractions (PVC) ; and significantly improved digestive tract eliminating all use of antacids since late June and for the past month (in addition to chiropractic adjustments) the near successful resolution of gloss pharyngeal neuralgia which just presented late Sept2000, These 3 conditions were not and I believe cannot be successfully addressed by western medicine. Acupuncture has been most affective and I believe is a valid practice that should be promoted and indeed covered by AHCIP.

For many years my doctors have told me that there is no treatment for my condition. Dr. Wong has diagnosed the condition and is currently treating me. The acupuncture is helping me deal with the pain, effectively and has given me hope of at last potential recovery. Dr. Wong has also used acupuncture to help me stop smoking, successfully. It has been over 4 months now and I have no cravings or desire to restart the habit.

More Energy, More Vitality, No longer Depressed, Removal of aches and pains. In February, I was at the Calgary Teacher's convention and was walking through the educational displays in the Telus Center when I came upon Dr. Victor Wong's display that was promoting his Sincere Acupuncture Clinic. I was looking at a diagram of the human body that outlines the meridians of the body when Dr. Wong asked me if I would like to know more about traditional Chinese healing. The first consultation is complimentary so I agreed. Dr. Wong explained to me that Chinese acupuncture in conjunction with natural herbal medicines will alleviate the current ailments but will also attempt to cure the cause of the ailments. Removing the cause of the Ailments develops a healthier body that does not degenerate as quickly as one ages. In our first session, Dr. Wong explained how Chinese acupuncture and herbal medicine is a process of restoring the body's life energy known as the Qi that flows throughout the body. Dr. Wong asked me a simple question. He said "What are your health concerns?" I replied, "I am 56 years old. I have been inactive in terms of exercise for the last five years. I feel tired in the morning and I feel tired after work. There are times when I feel anxiety and feel depressed. I also have a knee and toe joint that periodically swells up that is cured by taking an anti-inflammatory drug. I would also like to lose 15 pounds because I feel sluggish. I also have started to get up at night to urinate. I filled out a detailed questionnaire about maladies that affected all parts of the body from head to toe including the main organs and was asked to check off the areas of concern and the degree of discomfort on a 1 to 10 scale with 1 being the little problem and 10 being the more severe. From this questionnaire, Dr. Wong asked me questions regarding the symptoms I had circled that were of concern. Using this information, Dr. Wong began applying pressure-to-pressure points starting with my ears and working his way down to my toes. He took my pulse and told me that he could detect three flows of blood through my arteries to different parts of the body. Just with Dr. Wong applying pressure with his fingers, I felt relaxed. I signed up for five acupuncture sessions within a two week period. I had never been to any acupuncturist in my life. In our first session, Dr. Wong places needles on my back and when the session is finished, I turn face up and needles are placed on my front. Surprisingly, when the needles are inserted into my body there is absolutely no pain. Dr. Wong gently twists each needle and one feels a slight twinge. You are left lying on a comfortable cushioned table with a gentle heat blowing on your body and one relaxes. During this time, it feels like a comfortable massage and one can easily fall asleep. When Dr. Wong reappears and removes the needles, the session is complete. The amazing feature with this first session is that I came into the session tired and depressed and left totally refreshed, energized and in high spirits in the space of under an hour. My sense of smell was more acute. When I stepped onto the street , I could smell different odors emanating from the adjacent shops I had not noticed before. My left kneecap that had been giving me trouble was completely pain free. I could feel the veins in my arms and legs were bursting with energy. It is hard to explain but I felt so relaxed and at ease. The feeling is similar to that of what one experiences after doing an hour or two of heavy exercise such as long distance running when you have cooled down and have just taken a shower. You are relaxed and refreshed. The next morning I woke up with energy. Dr. Wong gave me some herbal medicine to cook and to drink for my urinary problem. The effects were immediate because I do not have the urgency to visit the washroom in the middle of the night. The medicinal herbs have cleansed my kidneys, liver and bladder and in conjunction with the acupuncture have alleviated my urinary problem. It is amazing how many ailments are cured in such a short space of time. Thank you Dr. Wong for improving the quality of my life, without good health, there is no wealth.

Approximately two years ago I was in a car accident with resulting injury to my neck and lower back. When I came to this acupuncture clinic I was experiencing a great deal of pain and had a great deal of difficulty walking. I feel that acupuncture was the turning point on my road to recovery. In a very short period of time I had less pain, didn’t need the walls for support in walking. It is a treatment that I highly recommend.

During the past year I have gone through a number of changes. Some of these changes have been very stressful such as family illness, not sleeping properly, starting a new job and taking courses. I came to the clinic to see if there was something I could do to help me cope with these changes. Dr. Wong recommended Acupuncture along with herbal remedies. After three visits, I felt a sense of control over my situation and I am sleeping properly. Thank you.

Weight loss on acupuncture I am pleased with my acupuncture treatments because I find that they effectively control recurrent leg and stomach cramps, as well as preparing me for a weight loss program (i.e. stimulating poor digestion) I have had acupuncture treatments for about 9 months - I first sought help for a twisted ankle last summer and was extremely happy with the pain relief and speed of ankle healing. I was teaching every morning and standing on my bad ankle which showed me how affective the acupuncture treatments were. As far as losing weight is concerned I have had this goal for quite a time and have tried a number of approaches, however, the advice I received from the doctors here suggested trying a LARGE breakfast, Good lunch and minimal supper. I also incorporated the ideas of Bernard Jensen (i.e. 6 vegetable portions, 2 fruit portions, 1 starch portion and 1 protein portion per day approx) as a dietary guideline. The doctors here also recommended minimizing fat and sugar intake and using acupuncture ear seeds to control hunger and cravings and to stimulate healthy body function. I noticed that weight loss has followed with out any extra exercise or diet aids. Finding the natural rhythm for my own metabolism seems to have been the doctors and my greatest challenge, requiring patients, expertise and support. However, now I feel that I have found the way to better energy, due to a lighter body and now dietary rhythm. Lost 7 lbs in 8 days, from 241 lbs (21st April, 2001) to 234 lbs (May 1st )

However, now I feel that I have found the way to better energy, due to a lighter body and now dietary rhythm. Lost 7 lbs in 8 days, from 241 lbs (21st April, 2001) to 234 lbs (May 1st )
